Happy Birthday to us!
Amalgamation turns TWO this month! We are amazed at the rate our community has grown this past year, and couldn't be more thankful for all the love in our company mission. Thank you for supporting Amalgamation Theatre Collective!
In honor of our birthday, we're fundraising to support our upcoming 2026-2027 season! This includes the already announced Not Enough Dark, an original theatrical experiment debuting in the Lehigh Valley, and several more projects to be revealed later.
Your donation helps fund: rehearsal space and venue costs, costumes, props, creative team stipends, general operating costs, and more! Our creative work cannot happen without your support, and we greatly appreciate every dollar donated.
As a token of appreciation, all donors to our Terrible Twos Birthday Fundraiser will receive a downloadable print file to their email of our limited edition 2026 Amalgamation quilt patch. Each year, we design a virtual quilt patch to commemorate our past season, and we are so excited to share it with those helping us put up our next one :)
We’re expanding our team!
Applications are now open for four new positions at Amalgamation:
Administrative Associate
Fundraising & Development Associate
In The Works Coordinator
Marketing Associate
Full information can be found on the Join Our Team page, and the application link can be found here.
Please note, all administrative roles at Amalgamation Theatre Collective are currently unpaid, volunteer roles. There are no physical office locations, and most work is conducted virtually, with opportunity for in-person support of productions based on location. In-person participation of productions and/or company initiatives will not be mandatory at any time.
2026-2027 Season
We are so excited to announce the first production of our 2026-2027 season!!! Members of Amalgamation’s Too Much Light… ensemble return to create Not Enough Dark, which will premiere in the Lehigh Valley.
About Not Enough Dark:
Joy is resistance. Celebration is protest. Not Enough Dark is an interactive skit-style performance, with pieces ranging from comedy to tragedy, from literal to bizarre, and from 30 seconds to five minutes. This theatrical experiment strives to reveal the connective tissues that bring us all together in a time where destructive forces want to take everything from us. Not Enough Dark serves as a moment in time where we invite you to celebrate our queerness, our diversity, our varied experiences, to laugh and cry and hope together for a better tomorrow.
Not Enough Dark is inspired by Amalgamation Theatre Collective’s production of Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind (30 Plays in 60 Minutes), created by Greg Allen and originally performed by the Neo-Futurists.

In The Works:
A Continuous Virtual Play Reading Series
Important Playwright Update: Due to overwhelming submissions, the Playwright Form is temporarily closed. Please check back in September 2026 when we anticipate reopening the form! Playwrights who have already submitted their plays will hear from us individually as we review submissions.
Actor auditions are still open! The audition form can be found here.
As part of our initiative to support new work, we are proud to be producing In The Works, an ongoing virtual play reading series for playwrights to hear their new works performed by actors.
This continuous series aims to provide playwrights with the chance to hear their plays aloud, to receive feedback on their work in a constructive environment, and to share a space with actors and network while developing new work! Since these readings take place virtually, this opportunity is available to playwrights and actors regardless of location.
